Are We Sponges Or Ballerinas??

Here I am again, people,!!! This is the video I told you (and showed people from Fridays) about last class. I hope it can help you understand the relationship between surface area and volume. This is a key concept to understand absorption in every part of our bodies.

So, less talking and more doing!!!
A biologist will show this ratio with an interesting lab experiment

This is the other video we watched in class last Friday.

I'm also including my  powerpoint presentation on transport IN and OUT of the cells for you to use as a review

TRANSPORT IN CELLS

Study a lot for the test on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd (Friday Group) and MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th please, because I wouldn't like this to happen:

Once There Was A Jack And A Charlie Diffusing In Water

As you can remember, we discussed that poor Leo Dicaprio died in Titanic because of 1) the loss (=perdida) of heat to the water by a diffusion process and because 2) all the water in his cells froze and the enzymes inside the cells stopped working because of the low temperature...

It was sad, wasn't it? and now, off with the watery romantic eyes and in with the funny stuff.
Shame on you, Rose, you selfish cow!!!

and ... do you remember Rose´s last words in the trailer?

The Mythbusters proved James Cameron WRONG!!!

I have a special 10 for the person that can tell me if Jack could have really gone to the bottom of the ocean or could have floated after dead (with a scientific explanation, of course!!!)

And for the girls only... the moment when heat diffuse from Zac's body into Tess's cold body to save her life...

(I was wrong, he wasn't wearing a t-shirt at all from the beginning of the scene...)

and now let's get a bit more serious...

(just the information we discussed in class!!!)

And another one from BBC

Hope you like them!!!
See you next Thursday/Friday
