Obama's visit to Argentina was historIC or historiCAL?  A 10 to the first person who can explain the difference to me!!!!

    Well, Obama´s visit to Argentina is Historic. That´s because historic refers to anything important or influential in history in general. On the other hand, Historical refers to anything for the past, important or not.

    The difference between historic and historical is that historic means famous or important in history, while historical is something that happened in the past, regardless of its significance.

    Historical adj. Conected with the study of history: historical research. Historical events, facts, people etc happened or existed in the past.
    Historic: n. (Singular) the present tense, used in some languages to describe events in the past to make them seem more real

    This is very confusing. Historic or Historical? To find this out we first have to know the difference between both words. We have “HistorIC” that is an adjective that means something important or influential in history. And in the other hand, there is “HistoricAL” that is an adjective that refers to anything from the past. So, I came to the conclusion that grammatically correct the sentence should be: “Obama's visit to Argentina was historic”.
